In the heart of the Bay of Saint-Tropez, Marines de Cogolin is one of the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur\u2019s largest marinas. Built in the 1970s, it no longer met the needs of modern vessels and was no longer prepared for the climate challenges of the future.

To ensure the long-term sustainability of its infrastructure and in anticipation of rising sea levels, the Port Authority tasked Poralu Marine, a Wearth Group company, with raising the height of all of its docks.

\nIt was a major project covering the equivalent of 3.3 km at the heart of a key tourist attraction\u2009\u2013\u2009all without ever disrupting its everyday activities.

\nThe operation, carried out as part of a consortium with HPCO and in conjunction with Eiffage for the electrical network, was a true engineering challenge.

The Poralu Marine teams had to tackle multiple limitations:\n\n\ncontinuing to welcome 1600 boats throughout the project duration,\nensuring no interruptions to the power supply,\nmanaging restricted access and logistics for over 79 semi-trailers and 110 return trips by boat,
adapting the structure to next-generation yachts that can be up to 50 meters in length.

The project involved expertise from across Poralu Marine, from the design office to the on-site installation teams.

Poralu Marine designed a fully recyclable custom promenade using aluminum and composite wood.
This choice of materials offered:

\n\u00b7 greater sturdiness, allowing the largest yachts to moor,

\n\u00b7 full integration of the electrical network for easier maintenance,

\n\u00b7 a stylish design, with wood cladding over seven levels to marry up with the marina\u2019s curves.

\nThe result is a raised dock with a harmonious appearance, transformed into a space enjoyed by walkers, marina users, and employees alike.

Beyond its local impact, the Cogolin project demonstrates Poralu Marine\u2019s ability to support coastal regions facing the impacts of climate change.

\nRising sea levels are forcing stakeholders to design new infrastructure: higher docks, fixed or floating promenades, and resilient, durable public spaces.

\nCogolin is now the first harbor in France to have been raised to counter rising sea levels. It serves as a showcase that is already inspiring other marina managers in France and around the world.
