Biopratic: gardens as a tool for collective well-being

Biopratic, a subsidiary of Wearth Group, is transforming an everyday object—planters—into a powerful tool for health, social connection, and quality of life.

Biopratic designs and manufactures self-watering planters designed to promote accessibility, autonomy, and community. What sets them apart is an integrated watering system powered by solar energy, which reduces maintenance and optimizes water management. Spending less time on technical matters means more time for what truly matters: fostering social cohesion.

While Biopratic’s planters offer undeniable functional innovations, their main impact is social.

Improving health, social cohesion, and quality of life via gardening can be a valuable tool.

The garden as a therapeutic space

In daycares, health and social care facilities, gardening is recognized for its multiple benefits. It boosts fine motor skills, maintains coordination, challenges memory, and encourages sensory awakening. It also creates opportunities for sharing, interaction and personal development.

Biopratic planters are designed for use by people with limited mobility. Their height has been carefully considered, they are accessible from the side and they are designed to be comfortable to use. They make gardening possible for everyone, regardless of their level of independence.

Six Biopratic planters have been installed at the Gabriel-François Richard Foundation, in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon. More than 200 people with physical disabilities can now access growing spaces tailored to their needs. Meanwhile, staff have a simple, low-input tool to incorporate gardening into support programs

A vision aligned with the Wearth mission

Through Biopratic, Wearth Group demonstrates that performance can be social as well as industrial. Designing sustainable solutions also means considering their impact on health, well-being, and cohesion.
